Historic Capitol Hill is a proud community of property owners, business owners, residents, and visitors who together make the district a special place to live, work and play.
As 2014 draws to a close, we recall the many activities that brought the community together this year: the farewell reception at Grill on the Hill to honor Dave and Gay Sellers and the Capitol Hill Beacon; a hands-on social at Pouring Art Ceramics; the district clean-up day with OU “Big Event” volunteers; four rockin’ “Taco Truck Thursday” concerts throughout the summer; a beautiful day of music and dance at the 9th annual “Fiestas de las Americas”; hundreds of families in colorful costumes at “Haunt the Hill”; the red-carpet excitement of our inaugural “Oklahoma Cine Latino Film Festival”; and to close out the year, a special concert featuring the choirs of Capitol Hill High School and Templo de Alabanza at “Navidad en Calle Dos Cinco”.
This year the district celebrated the opening of the offices of Capitol Hill Dentistry and Braces and Helping Hands Counseling, a new storefront for Prestige Lighting Solutions, who we thank along with Home Depot for help with our holiday lights, and La Casa del Pan bakery. There was also much excitement and anticipation as pre-construction work began on the new OCCC Capitol Hill Campus on the NE corner of Hudson and SW 25th.THANK YOU to the dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors who helped to make 2014 a great year! We have much to be thankful for and more to look forward to in the coming year.
From all of us at Historic Capitol Hill: “Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2015!”
